Macarthur Economic Profile - August 2008

The Macarthur Economic Profile is a quarterly publication produced by the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) to provide key economic, business and social indicators.

The major highlights are:

a) The value of non-residential building approvals in the Macarthur Region increased 132.0% to $68.7 million in the June Quarter to 2008.

b) The median house prices in Camden remained unchanged, whilst Campbelltown experienced negative growth of 0.3% and Wollondilly increased quarterly by 5.3% in the 2008 March Quarter.

c) The unemployment rate for Macarthur fell by 0.7 percentage points to 5.2% during the quarter to March 2008.
