Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils

Camden, Campbelltown, Wollondilly

MEDIA RELEASE - Investment remains strong in Macarthur

June 13, 2007

The value of non-residential building approvals in the Macarthur region has risen consistently since September 2006, to reach $59.3 million in March Quarter 2007. Campbelltown contributed $45.6 million to the growth in the March quarter, followed by Camden ($12.9 Million) and Wollondilly ($0.8 million).

The President of MACROC Councillor Rob Elliott said, “the increase in non-residential construction bodes well for future employment growth in the region.”

“Employment land in Macarthur is competitively priced which together with the region’s close proximity to major road and rail networks should translate into increased relocation of businesses to the region,” says Rob Elliott.

Every quarter MACROC publishes the Macarthur Economic Profile to keep businesses and residents informed of current economic conditions and emerging trends in the Macarthur region. The document can be downloaded from the MACROC website –
