Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils

Camden, Campbelltown, Wollondilly

MEDIA RELEASE - It's all about planning for the future, whether it's selling cars or winning footie games!

1 March 2008

Over 145 business leaders from Macarthur and beyond attended the first MACROC CEO Breakfast Forum for 2008.

The Ferguson Art Gallery, Camden Civic Centre, Camden, was the venue for an entertaining and informative meeting when MACROC President Rob Elliott “interviewed” guest speakers Paul Wakeling, Chairman, Paul Wakeling Motor Group and Steve Noyce, Chief Executive Officer, Wests Tigers. Cr Elliott asked them each about their business strategies, leadership styles and how they planned for the future success of their business.

Both Paul and Steve stressed the importance of training and continuing education and of building leadership capacity within the members of their teams. For Paul in particular this included a successful strategy that would see one of his sons become an integral part of that process.

“I am particularly pleased at the interest the business community has shown in the MACROC CEO Breakfast Forums, and MACROC will continue to invite guest speakers whose expertise can benefit the business leaders of the Macarthur Region,” said Cr Elliott.

The next MACROC CEO Breakfast Forum is to be held on 10 June. More information about MACROC can be found at
