Macarthur Economic Profile - May 2008

The Macarthur Economic Profile is a quarterly publication produced by the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) to provide key economic, business and social indicators.

The Major highlights are:

a) The value of non-residential building approvals in the Macarthur Region decreased 62.0% to $30.0 million in the March quarter to 2008 and by 50% over a 12 month period.

b) The median house prices in Camden increased quarterly by 0.7% in December 2007, whilst campbelltown and Wollondilly experienced negative growth of 1.7% and 12.9% respectively.

c) The unemployment rate for Macarthur fell by 0.4 percentage points to 5.8% during the December quarter to 2007.
