Macarthur Economic Profile - November 2008

The Macarthur Economic Profile is a quarterly publication produced by the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) to provide key economic, business and social indicators.

The major highlights are:

a) Although the value of non-residential building approvals in the Macarthur Region decreased 31.6% to $47.0 million in the September Quarter to 2008, it rose 12.7% year on year.

b) The median house prices in Camden, Campbelltown and Wollondilly decreased 4.9%, 1.2% and 7.9% in the 2008 June Quarter.   

c) The unemployment rate for Macarthur fell by 0.2 percentage points to 4.9% during the quarter to June 2008.
