Macarthur Economic Profile - October 2009

The Macarthur Economic Profile is a publication produced by the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) to provide key economic, business and social indicators.

The major highlights are:

a) The number of building approvals for new houses rose by 10.7% in the June 2009 Quarter.

b) Median rentals on 3 bedroom houses in Macarthur increased by over 8% in the March 2009 Quarter.   

c) The unemployment rate for Macarthur rose by 0.6 percentage points to 5.9% during the December Quarter 2008.
