Macarthur Economic Profile - February 2008

The Macarthur Economic Profile is a quarterly publication produced by the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) to provide key economic, business and social indicators.

The major highlights are:
a) The value of non-residential building approvals in the Macarthur Region rose 209% over a year to reach $80.5 million in December Quarter 2007.

b) The median house prices rose by 2.1% in Camden and 19.5% in Wollondilly, except for Campbelltown where prices remained static over the year to September quarter 2007

c) The unemployment rate for Macarthur fell by 0.5 percentage points to 6.2% during the September quarter 2007.
